5 Steps approach to analyse ALLOTINABOX®

Describe:
- colour: brown as the background and the box with a orange sticker
- typeface: Some typeface is like Slab Serif, and some is Sans Serif.
The typeface seems like had been designed and it has specific meaning for the product.
- material: eco-friendly cardboard box

Identify:
- What’s the product’s tone of voice? -> healthy and organic
- Who designed the packaging? -> ALLOTINABOX® UK
- What's the product message? -> Grow your own healthy food
- What’s the box concept? ->”It doesn't take long to get started after you order one of our boxes” It means consumers can easily engage in growing by their guidance.

Interpret:

Brown as background represents the natural and organic, the material of box is 100% recyclable and 100% biodegradable, and the seeds pack is also made by recyclable material. The box gives consumers who want to grow their own vegetables confidence.

Evaluate:
I am impressed by the box looks and all the seeds pack because the texture of seeds packaging material seems organic and natural. Besides, when I open the box, all the stuff ( eg. grow wheel) inside convey to me that they can help me on my journey of "growing your own". Therefore, I think the packaging is successful, it communicate with consumers about organic and convince consumers to enjoy dreaming their own vegetables. But maybe it can give more information such as imagery explaination for a newcomer in gardening.

Reflect:
The choice of colour and materials will related to the product category. For example, the product aims to encourage consumers to grow their own vegetables, which means consumers tend to like organic and healthy life as well as concern about environment issue. I think packaging is the first impression for consumers, maybe we won’t know whether the material is eco-friendly or not, but colour can communicate with audience.
